Do military personnel get a discount on airline tickets and if so how much of a discount?

- Generally, no. But some airlines will give discounts (at least on some fares) and/or waive fare rules for military personnel. And some others will give discounts (at least on some fares) and/or waive fare rules for military personneltraveling ON ORDERS. You will have to ask each airline. Some will waive the fee for making the reservation by phone rather than online. Some will grant admission to club rooms. It's all over the map.
- Not always, it depends on the airlines themselves. You can often get better deals online or through a travel agency. You can also find out if there is a Travel agency on base where they can get discounts or deals for you.

- Yes! but its not as simple as to provide your travel agent or airline your military ID and they will issue you a discounted military ticket. Military or Govt. discount is only given on the tickets that are issued on request of your headquarter like for duty travel etc.
