anyone have any ways of getting discounts when buying airline tickets?

Ok, so in addition to Expedia, Orbitz, etc, I was wondering if any of you guys had any ideas on how to get some extra discounts? thanks in advance.

  1. Decide which airline offers you the best routing and fare, then become a member of its frequent flier program. Stick to this same airline every time you fly and after accumulating enough air miles, you can exchange for a free ticket.
  2. See if you can get a discount through your employer or any organization that you belong to, such as AAA,

  4. I'm not one of those twits who just posts links to places to make money...I swear, lol. But, I cannot praise these guys enough: www.airlineconsolidator.com I would also recommend economytravel.com if you're going overseas, like I am. Their fares were like $5 more than Airline Consolidators. I spent weeks and weeks trying to find the cheapest fare possible from Chicago to Entebbe, Uganda. Orbitz, priceline, Bing, and all of the others quoted me $1360+. I booked my fare a few weeks later (2 weeks ago) for $1205! By then, bing was quoting me $1460.... I'd definitely recommend these guys! The only catch is that the tickets are non-refundable.
  5. I searched on this site and got the Cheapest Flight, check it out,it also had discount coupon codes for expedia, orbitz, travelocity, kayak, priceline, etc. http://freetravel4ever.blogspot.com
  6. twitter is the wave of the future for airline marketing. Know who to follow and you'll get advance tips on upcoming fare hikes and drops and any mistake fares (like a $40 international airfare). But you'll be constantly monitoring them.
