Was Yahoo bought out of its Yahoo Auction Site?

I believe that Yahoo would have been the only viable competitor to Ebay. Do you believe Ebay will ever again face a competitor?

1. Never say never. The past few years have seen some of the largest and reputedly best companies in their field, fold down or collapse, for a number of reasons. The demise of eBay may not be imminent, but then, it could go very fast is some kind of fraud was unveiled (which is not something that anyone, including me, expects) or some unknown outfit might come out with a safer, faster, easier, better, cheaper way of achieving what eBay does. Things do change...If you get a hold of a newspaper from twenty years ago, you will notice that many of the big names that were ruling business then, are no longer around. Things change...
