Why isn't anyone bidding on my item?
I have a brand new Ping golf jacket with the tags still attached up for Auction on ebay. However, there is only like 3 hours left and nobody has bid on it, even thought it starts at 1 penny. This jacket retails for $90; it even has the $90 price tag from Ping still attached. Why isn't anyone bidding on it? What did I do wrong in listing it? Please take a look and give me your feedback! Here is the auction URL: http://cgi.ebay.com/Ping-Golf-Jacket-Beige-Microfiber-1-2-Zip-BNWT-Rt-90_W0QQitemZ220493715436QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Men_s_Athletic_Apparel?hash=item33567317ec I am not trying to promote my item. I truly am wondering what I did wrong in listing it. An item like this should be getting bids.

- Clever way of promoting your auction on Ebay.....
- Because no one wants to buy it
- You did not do anything wrong, it's just... nobody is interested I guess. You might want to advertise a little more. Did you put it also on craigslist? if not, you should. www.Craigslist.org Good luck with selling!
- Unlike the first answer, I don't feel you are trying to promote your auction. It's not like I go on YA to shop for my golf supplies. I have had this happen to me sometimes too, you put a good price on an auction and no one bids. Anyway, I searched 'ping golf jacket' on eBay. I got 179 results. Your listing is around the 30's. Therefore, your probably not getting many views towards your auction. If you want more views, make it a featured auction (like $5 to do). Also, when there are that many golf jackets like that available, sometimes you just won't be able to sell it. If you have no luck this time, try Amazon or your local Craiglist. In addition, whenever you start an auction at a penny, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS put in a reserve. Putting it at a penny is a great way to drive traffic to your auction, but if you don't have a reserve, you could really end up losing some money. And hey, it has 3 hours left. Some buyers (INCLUDING ME!) won't bid on anything until there are less than 10 seconds left in the auction. 'Tis called sniping. Some people hate it. Personally, I do this because I'm paranoid. Even though there might not be a single bid, I still snipe the auction to make sure I win it. So you might get a few snipers too.
- I'm not entirely sure why nobody has bid on your item yet. The item itself; the description and price all seem very good. You have a very good Feedback Score too. You might want to try to re-list it and try another category, or to try multiple categories. I realize that can zap your profits too. You also might have some watchers out there waiting for the last few minutes of the auction to make their bid. Do you have a reserve on this item? If not, you should mention that in your description. Good luck!
