OK to make money organizing charity events?
OK, so I have worked many charity events as the Host/MC/live Auctioneer. People always tell me that I do a great job and should do it for a career. My question is this: If I have the creativity, connections, and ability to organize/host charity events, how can I make money doing that? I feel bad asking for money from a charity event but also know that their return on investment is far greater than the cost of paying me. I'm interested to hear your thoughts, insults, comments and other ideas. Thanks!

- -Sometimes invidual or groups do it. -In my own opinion, it's awkward earning money out of charity events. Charitable works are voluntary works that don't pay your volunteered time and effort. It's purely helping others to be happy, not earning for yourself.
- Write a flyer, start a website, compile a mailing list, and market yourself to orgs as a host/mc/auctioneer.
- I've been copying this real neat blog that I found. Its for Haiti but it could be used for anything else. You already have some of the foundation, as a host/MC/live auctioneer. Now you need to round yourself out and do the internet stuff too. Your idea is to make as much money as possible for the charity. Look at this site as an example: http://www.justgiving.com/CharlieSimpson-HAITI?
- Large NonProfits hire a Director of Fundraising and pay them extremely well, 6 figures
