Are ab belts a good companion to diet and work out?
I work out 4 times a week, and trying to be on a strict diet. I saw these ab belts on tv. Has anyone used this? It looks like it's something I can use while watching tv to accompany my existing workout routine. Any suggestions?

- Do NOT waste your hard earned money on that junk,, it's been proven that it does absolutely nothing plus I did have one a few years ago which ended up in the Garbage.
- Just my opinion - ignore all the gadgets and gizmo's you see on TV. They are gimmicks to sell products, and nothing more. There really isn't any magic bullet, or miracle cures. Especially when it comes to abs. I'm glad to read your working out 4x a week, but what are your goals other then just "working out"? Personally, i'm opposed to "strict diets", unless this diet was designed by a professional nutritionist that knows you, that understands your goals, and that knows your body type. Dieting isn't always about eating less, but eating the right kinds of foods at the right time and still maintaining a healthy level of calories. Honestly, sometimes just a "balanced diet" is all anyone needs to reduce body fat. For example, a recent study has shown that carbohydrates make up nearly 70% of the average persons diet. This is about 30% too much for anyone, including athletes. This isn't any ones 'fault', but rather the result of the food industry itself. Carbs and sugars are cheap to produce and include in processed foods. They make boring foods taste better, but that added flavor comes with a price. Bottom line: Set goals. Design a program (both eating and fitness) to accomplish your goals. Take measurements, and record your results. If you do all three correctly, you will get tone, reduce body fat, and be able to maintain it without any drastic lifestyle changes. Best of luck.
- Think about it for a second. How would you even be able to sweat off fat? It's not logical. You don't lose fat when you sweat. Sweating is a way for your body to regulate its temperature. By applying heat to your stomach/abs with one of these, all the sweating does is show that your body is reacting to the temperature.
