Belt Auction

What will happen to me if I dont pay for my ebay auction?

I won a 170 auction bid by using the buy it now thingy. But I found a better deal for it so if I just dont pay him he wont send it. It wont become a legal issue will it?

  1. what willl happen is they wont hunt you doen and make youe pay. they will just overlook it and not send it. they will give you about 2 weeks to pay, but if you dont they will send you a notice saying that the overlooked the order and will not be saved or sent to you. i know because i bought an acoustic guitar off of ebay and i didnt want it so i just waited. and that is what happened. hoped it helped =]
  2. If I were you, I would tell the auctioner that you don't wish to purchase the item anymore. Unfortunetely, if you have already won the item, he/she might have assumed you to be buying it and have sent it, in which case they might ask for money returned to them for shipping. Best case scenario, tell them and pull out of the deal, and nothing should happen with other payments or courts. Do it quick though, you don't want them assuming things they shouldn't be.
  3. You'll likely get an unpaid item strike and negative feedback. If I were you, I would contact the seller and at least pay for the seller fees that the seller incurred when you clicked on Buy It Now. It could keep you from getting all the negative attention on your EBay account, it just depends on your seller.
  4. No, the seller will file a non-paying bidder complaint so that he or she can get their money back. (Anytime an item sells, the seller is automatically charged a "final value fee" based on the sale price, and at $170, it's probably a hefty fee.) You'll get an unpaid item strike, but there shouldn't be anymore of an issue.
