I would like to sell some household items at auction.?

Where can I find a local auction house that will sell my average household items? Can they also appraise my things? How much will I be charged? Are there any guidelines I should follow?

1. If they are average things, you would come out ahead to just have a yard sale or garage sale.
2. Try ebay.
3. Try the yellow pages. The local auction houses are probably listed. From there ask about there pricing and see if they will do appraisals. In my area they will but each one costs $10. Just make sure you get any agreements in writing like any other professional dealings.
4. How close are you to Detroit? If you don't mind a trek to the Ann Arbor area, give Braun and Helmer a try
5. eBay has what is called trading assistants.You can find a list of all the people that have registered in your area as a trading assistant on the eBay site.It'll give you there names and all there contact info, usually including phone number.They're in the business of selling things for other people.
6. I would go to Gibraltor Trade Center.
