What's the difference between serpentine and poly V belts (in a car)?

1. Serpentine belts are usually flat-serrated belts (on one side) as compared to a V-shaped belt.
2. serpentine flat wide V belts shaped in a v shape and narrow
3. Nothing - serpentine just describes the winding route the belt takes around the pulleys and has nothing to do with its shape, material of construction.
