What size brake shoes (rear) for 1998 chevy cavalier 2.2L?
I was looking online and both autozone and discount auto parts' sites list two different sizes for my year cavalier: 7 & 7/8 inch OR 8 & 55/64 inch. Am I going to have to crawl under my car and measure something? My basic manual has no specifications on brakes.

- Yep. You'll have to find out which brakes your car has before you buy parts for them.
- no all you have to do is buy them both and take back the one you don't need, it is always a good idea to buy a spring kit,to insure optimum performance, in my experience the larger brake size was usually related to a performance option of some kind, that was more than likely a special order from the factory for that year make and mode, but who knows anymore, hope this helps
