Question about Lawn Mower Blades/Belt?
Quick question, I look through the owners manual on how to change the mowing deck belt, and it says to remove the whole deck to install it. I took a look at it before i did anything, and realised that i can put the new belt on without removing the deck. Is This ok? Also, do you need to remove the deck to put new blades? or can I just jack the lawn mower up to get to them?

- Whatever gets the job done. Taking the deck off is usually pretty easy and it makes the job a whole lot easier.
- It's ok but disconnect the plug wire for safety sake.
- Sure you can do it with the deck on. It is good to take the deck off once in a while to be able to look at everything closely. As an example I just had a bracket that was welded to the deck come loose the other day. Without removing the deck I wouldn't have seen it until it broke completly. It gives you a chance to really clean things up and look it over.
- If you can do it without removing the deck go ahead. I don't remove mine either. But my Yard Machines is a bear to put the deck back on . Yes you can run the mower up on ramps or jack it up for the blades. Remving the plug wire is a good idea.
