- Would it be a good gun for concealed carry? Maybe. I cannot tell you what the size of the gun is because I'm not familiar with the gun and the picture isn't very helpful. But what I can say is this: the physically large the gun is for the caliber, then the less recoil you will have. I would suggest that you get something of a little higher caliber, such as a .45; just because it's debatable whether or not 9mm will penetrate heavy clothing (and definitely if the assailant was wearing even the lowest end bulletproof vest, it would not penetrate). But what I can suggest more is this: You must learn to use your gun accurately and effectively before you decide to use it for concealed carry. Become comfortable with the use of it, and know it's advantages and disadvantages before trying to deploy it in the field. And if you have not already, you should take concealed carry classes or watch concealed carry videos (Thunder Ranch actually has a pretty good one; but I don't know how much the DVD is (I've watched it, but I didn't buy it))
- Frank, Find a local gun range that rents guns ... play with a few... fire a few ... see what feels best. It can be the best concealed gun on the planet ... if it's hard to operate, or doesn't feel right ... it's really no good. Buy what feels right and you can handle. Rule of thumb: Small Caliber ... better be a very good shot at close range. Large Caliber ... better stand off knock down power. Best one: The one your good with !
- with 24+ years in law enforcement, I really dislike double action handguns. Personally I prefer the Glock 9mm and the Glock 40 cal. both are great handguns. Glocks are the only handguns I know of that you can break down and run it through the dish washer, give it a little bit of gun oil, put it back together and rock and roll.. I just wish the military would go to glocks but they have to many trigger happy kids right now in the military police field..
