Why is the UZI illegal ???
Ok I live in NY State and I have been told by 2 gun dealers that owning an UZI by Vector Arms is illegal in NY. Does anyone know why? I looked through all of the legal documents and found nothing about this weapon on any list. They have UZI by IMI on the list but nothing about this weapon made by Vector Arms. - Becuase it is considered a assault rife and the liberals banned that
- In reading the law reference that you provided, the reason you cannot own this gun is covered under "Miscellaneous". It states that "assault rifles" are illegal and guns with high capacity magazines are also illegal. The UZI in which you are interested is defined as an assault rifle and it has a high capacity magazine. You are screwed! In order to own this gun, you will have to get the proper FFL. I'm afraid it will be too expensive and too much hastle just to own this one gun. Contact BATF and ask them about it.
- It is illegal because your state government is corrupt and malfeasant.
- Liberals have banned assault rifles in NY so you cannot own one. however if u wanna move to own it feel free to move to my state which is only a 4 hr drive away New Hampshire.
- They probably have some wording similiar to California's assault weapon law where their list of prohibited arms includes the phrase "all other models that are variations with only minor differences, of those models listed regardless of the manufacturer." Which means if it looks like one of the guns on the list, then it is on the list too.
