Would you use one of those pedal surreys for everyday transportation if gas gets any higher?

During and right after WWII, a lot of people in Europe "drove" wooden pedal "cars" that both passengers pedalled. (Quite collectable now) Today, at resorts and beachside boardwalks are 2 (or more) passenger pedal "cars", where all occupants pedal. They look like a frame from an old fashioned, open car with bench seats for 2 or 4 or 6. Some have working generator lights. Would you get one? I'm thinking of it... before they go thru the roof in price, from demand.

  1. Wouldn't`t a bicycle be faster and easier to park.
  2. Maybe for families with kids so everyone can ride and pedal.
  3. I would give a bum a pack of smokes, and a jug of wine every few days or so for pushing me around in his shopping cart to and from work, the store..etc
  4. I'd love to get one with a huge basket in the back. A nice little canopy top, a plastic windshield, a nice comfy cushioned bench seat. A place for your dog to sit next to you (can your dog pedal?) Generator lights. Gears for up-hill riding. Really... what a cool idea! I am going to look into pedal surreys online right now! Thanks for the great idea!!! Ride it in decent whether, public transit the rest of the time.
