Have you ever seen this excuse for getting rid of a horse?

http://southbend.craigslist.org/zip/1854373020.html "hi i have a horse i am just going to give away. i got it at a horse auction because i was going to break it in but i don't have time since i just joined a hard core band. please contact me (morgan) at ***-***-**** no emails please. thank you" And what do you think the real story is?

  1. Sounds like a flaky teenager or a drugged out wanna be that bounces from one thing to another... who knows?! Maybe you should call and ask ! LOL Definitely not someone who should own a horse!
  2. Ive heard of more and more people giving away horses recently - the recession has taken some people by the throat and they simply cant wait around waiting to sell. It sounds to me like this person is a teenager - maybe got it before he/she found a new passion in life in the form of their band. It could very well be a genuine case - it might be worth taking a look at the horse - often the most unusual of circumstances produce some of the most wonderful rewards! xx
  3. That's so stupid. My mums friend is going to be breaking in my horse for me, and she has several young children and has time. They're probably some stupid teenager that gets things just to be cool, and moves onto the next thing. Just the way they said hard core band makes me think they just want to look 'cool', why not just say a band?
  4. She probably should I have thought it through before getting the horse if she wasn't going to keep him/her. But then again we don't know her personally so who knows what really happened. At least she realizes she can't take care of the horse and is trying to find a good home for him. I don't know much about craigslist though.
  5. The message seem's to have been written by a younger person perhaps not sure what she wants or can do. Give her credit for at least knowing that she has bitten off more than she can chew. We do not know the whole story, so lets not be a lynching party. It may be worth your while to at least call if you are interested in the horse. If you make the call and talk to this Morgan maybe you can get more details on the situation and get a feel if the person is genuine or not
  6. Sounds like a horrid spoiled rich girl whose daddy bought her a pony and now she found something "cooler". Her parents obviously never taught her that animals are not playthings you can just discard when you're done with. They probably just give her whatever she wants and spoil her rotten.
  7. Craigslist has proven to be a stomping ground for some SERIOUSLY STRANGE DUCKS. IF IF IF (and that's a BIG IF) this is true I would guess this person got their "bargain" auction horse hauled home only to find out it has a few VERY dangerous quirks and they want out from under this horse ASAP. Also... how many "hardcore" rockers do you know that have ever been into horses? None that I know of.... The whole listing smells like horse poop to me. . .
  8. I agree with all the other answers. But, alternatively, could this person just be immaturely faking things and having a laugh? The classic internet troll? If so, that person needs to grow up, and get a life.
  9. This is just another sad case of a teenager who was given a horse from somewhere by parents who have more money than they do brains or common sense. It sounds like the girl is trying to find a home for the animal in the only way she can think of- it probably hasn't even entered her head that there are better places to advertise horses, even give away horses like this one. I'm also willing to bet that the horse is probably completely untrained, and may have some serious behavioral issues to boot. The girl doesn't even say how old the horse is, which makes me think she's hiding some things. Buying a horse at a horse auction is not for beginners, which is also what this girl clearly is. I suspect that what she knows about training horses or horse behavior would probably fill a thimble- in other words, this was a case of dumb being led by dumber.
  10. I think its a load of BS and there is no horse to this story. I doubt the whole thing and think its just someone saying they have a horse to give away to get peoples hopes up on possibly getting a new horse.
  11. Honestly, I've never seen an excuse like that before, and I have a hard time believing that's true. However, I don't know the person or her situation, so I can't totally attack her. If it is true, she sounds rather young and doesn't seem very serious or educated about horses (again, I don't know her). But I do have to admit, that ads pretty weird. It could just be a complete joke, which I wouldn't doubt. It could also be someone trying to think of an excuse because something isn't right with the horse. Although it's a pretty bad one if you ask me. You should just call and see who answers. =)
  12. I've never seen quite that excuse, but have seen the "thought I could do it but I don't have the time" excuse in general. I think this is someone who felt sorry for a horse and bought it at an auction impulsively, without really thinking things through. Maybe she did it without her parents' permission and that's the real reason behind getting rid of it. Maybe she really did join a band and practices every afternoon for a few hours. Who knows? She still did okay by rescuing the horse from an auction and trying to find it a good home without trying to make a profit.
