Motorcycle auctions in southern California?

I'm looking to get a first motorcycle and I can't do financing because I'm buying this on my own. I'm 17 years old and looking for a bike under $1,000...I heard that auctions are the way to go, does anyone know of any near or in orange county, cali? My zip is 92620 if that helps. I saw a few older cbr600's gsxrs, katanas on craigslist..but I heard that buying from an auction might be better...

1. 1,000 wont get you crap trust me first time rider? research ninja 250r and see if they got them also take the MSF course!
