How do I find local auctions?

I'm looking for those police auctions that sell cars. How would I find one?

1. Start by asking your local police department. You can also look in your local 'yellow pages' for auctions or auctioneers, then you could call each one and ask if they handle that kind of auction or know who does. Local car dealers, auto parts stores, and junkyards probably know about them, too.
