How to set up an auction online for charity?

I want to set up an art auction online for a charity. People are willing to donate their art, but I'm not entirely sure how to go about having the people who are buying it send the money to me or even directly to the charity and then getting the art to them, since the donations might be in the original artists' possessions.

You could have all the items on display, charge an admission fee, serve a snack/drink, and then reveal the highest bidders at the end of the event so that they can take the items home that night as soon as they have paid for them.
