discount airfare for girlfriend?

my boyfriend is in the navy and in japan right now. i am planning to go fly out there to see him, but he told me to hold off on booking my flight because he is going to check with SATO to see if he can get me a discounted flight. is this possible or is this discount just for him or for dependents?

1. it is just for him and dependents. but he can try if he wants maybe he will get lucky.
2. He can't do anything with SATO. Even dependents have a hard time getting discounts.
3. Only for service members and their dependents.
