Would you consider these pants to be 'hippyish'? If not, what is?

1. any kind of bell bottoms work. so yes. basic black or gray flats would look great. :]
2. Yes, they are heaaps hippy. You could get some old white trainers and spray them with heaps of different colors. Thats the most hippy-ish.

4. I've always considered hip-hugger bell bottom jeans hippyish, it's what real hippies wore back in the 1960's when I was a kid. I used to sell strands of beads with home made peace signs to hippies when i was a kid and almost all of them wore bell bottom jeans. They also put patches on their jeans and some would paint on them...stuff like rainbows and stars and weird bright colours. For shoes most wore sandals like birkenstocks and something called "huaraches" they looked like birdcages, sort of. Other wore sneakers, brands weren't important. For a modern hippy look go for bell bottom jeans or other bell bottom pants and wear lots of colorful strands of beads and some flat sandals. If you don't mind it, drawing or painting peace signs and rainbows on your jeans would add to the look. For tops, girls wore lots of peasant blouses and guys wore plain t's or tie dye t's.
