Bidding sites whats the secret to winning?

How or what is the best way to win on bidding sites. Is there a technique to get the item your bidding on. Is there a best way at all or is it really hope for the best and lose money doing it.

1. dont bid anything until the last second (litarally) or as close to the end as possible.
2. If you want to buy a toaster, go buy a toaster. Why waste 2 dollars at a time, 20 times over bidding on a 30-dollar toaster? These sites are making money hand over fist from folks that are more interested in getting a bargain than they are in actually buying a specific product. Think about what you REALLY need to buy, save the money for the item, then go buy it. You'll save money that way.
