Am I the only one or bidding on eBay sucks?
Well, I hate bidding on eBay. I found this nice Sass & Bide dress and someone keeps outbidding me and adds a WAY high maximum price so I can't bid. Stupid assshole. What can I do to win? Any tips?

- The key is to make your first bid the highest you'd be willing to pay for the item. If you get outbid then search for another one just like it.
- If it's a new item u can probably find it cheaper by hunting around other sites (like maybe buy.com or amazon.com). Ebay has gotten to be an overpriced annoyance to me these days. I rarely go on there any more at all. For used stuff I use craigslist (which is way safer because u deal in person) and for new stuff, I find overstock sites and similar places.
- They are not stupid they can just afford to pay more than you. Stop bidding! Most Ebayers learn to only bid in the final 30 seconds or so, this is when most auctions are decided, early bids rarely succeed in being the final bid. Next time just wait.
- decide what ur highest price will be then dont bid till the last minutes.
- First, whether you bid early or late, no prospective buyer should bid more than they think the item is worth. If you want a better chance of winning, use your ‘item is worth’ price as your MAXIMUM bid. You can increase it any time, but if you initially established it as the maximum price you are willing to pay for the item, don't look back and don’t change it. Also, do not bid in an even dollar amount. BIDDING EARLY CAN BE DETRIMENTAL If you bid early you may get into a bidding war with another prospective buyer who really wants the item as well. Then, like many others, you take it as an insult that someone outbid you. You then place a higher bid. The other buyer has the same feelings as you and he outbids you. This cycle may continue, i.e., bidding war. Never let your pride take precedence over your wallet: stick to the price you were willing to pay. Secondly, if you place your maximum bid early, subsequent bidders will immediately know if they are low or the high bidders. If low, they may jump your bid which only serves to benefit the seller by increasing the final closing price. BIDDING LATE IS BEST – LIE IN THE WEEDS The best way to avoid bidding wars and stick to your maximum bid price is to lie in the weeds like a snake and strike late. However, this is impractical in many cases as you may be working when the auction nears its end or the auction may end at 3:00 AM when you are sleeping. The easiest way to bid late is to sign up at a sniping site like esnipe.com, one of many. http://www.esnipe.com/ The above site explains it all. You place your SNIPE BID at the sniping site and, in turn, the sniping site will place your snipe bid in the last seconds of the auction. This, of course, means you don't even have to be online to place your bid(s). Sniping is rampant at ebay. Millions of others do it. There is no reason you can't as well. You may not always win every auction but you have the consolation knowing that someone else ‘foolishly’ bid more than you KNEW the item was worth. You have lived to ‘fight’ another day! The item will turn up again.
