  1. ooo! what a beautiful bed!! I would use the gold as an accent color and do some red colors in there. the Pink works too, but it would have to be a bright pink! You really can't go wrong with the gold, just don't mix pastels, they dont add to gold too well.
  2. Cream or burgundy, but most dark colors will do.
  3. HOW ABOUT BLUE?
  4. Teal or a Tiffany blue colour looks good with gold, and black or dark blue as an accent colour with gold and teal could look stunning.
  5. I'm assuming that you have a brass bed. LOVE those, & I have a white iron & brass bed in my guest room. Cottage style goes well with these types of beds. The reason that pink & yellow didn't look good with your brass bed is because they are warm colors, the same as the brass bed. So what you need to highlight the bed is a cool color - either green or blue or gray or a cool purple (meaning that there's more of a blue undertone rather than a red undertone). Stylish & sophisticated would be gray right now. More cottage would be green or blue. And more modern would be the purple. So here's what I would do - paint your walls gray & accent in purple, both in darker shades (look at Sherwin Williams # 7017 Dorian Gray). I would do your bedding in gray also, either lighter or darker than your walls, then add accent pillows & a coverlet in purple. Don't overwhelm the bed with too much pattern - learn restraint to achieve the sophisticated look that you want, but the pop of the purple will still be age appropriate. I am proud of you for wanting to present yourself & your room well to others...I think you must be a very mature young lady!!!
  6. One of the classiest most feminine bedrooms, with a brass bed, I every worked with had rose pink walls (the same tone but lighter then raspberry) and white/ivory bedding. The pink was light and vibrant enough without being boring. It played well with the brass and made it really stand out. So you weren't wrong with the pink it just needs to be the right pink. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/247/461201407_f8bb9641f9.jpg?v=0 Some more inspiration for you http://st.houzz.com/simages/32000_0_8-9636--.jpg http://www.countryliving.com/cm/countryliving/images/bedroom4-de.jpg http://www.obc-uk.net/setimages/brass-bedstead-boyne.gif So do up the walls in the pink. Add a chandelier. Flowers in blues http://www.paulabrams.com/WebSL/BrassVaseBlueBottle20x16oc.jpg White or /ivory on the bed with a lacy throw and accent pillows. Think linen sateen and lace. An old cotton tablecloth dyed pink and tossed over the bed.
  7. Do the whole room in off white and gold.
