If you set an automatic bid on ebay, and no one bids higher then you, do you pay your automatic bid payment?

I.e.) I automatically set the bid to $55 & the item doesn't go up at $ 30, do I have to pay the $ 55 or the $ 30 ?

2. I'm sorry i can't be of any help. I am really sympathetic to you. I just had an identical problem lately.
3. if it doesn't go past $30 then your the highest bidder. you would pay the next bid. example if the bid incriments are 1$ then your automatic bid would put you in, at 31 if the other person bid 30 first. if then the first bidder has automatic at 32 then you have 33. etc. if the other person would bid 55 you get it for 55 because you bid 55 before he did. but ofcourse he can bid 56 and win.
