Belt Auction

My husband and I went to an auction and ended up taking home what we thought was a baby lamb. She is almost?

two weeks old now and I have had several people tell me that she is a goat. She does not have a wooly coat. So what do I have or how do I know for sure?? They told us at the auction that she was a lamb and know I am beginning to wonder.....

  1. well you can tell by the coat. look on google at baby lambs and see what their coats look like and then search for baby goats and see what their coats look like. it would be a lot more helpful if we had a pic then we could tell you right away if it was a goat or a lamb
  2. I would go to a vet and let them figure it out. They are the experts, and usually they can pick out the traits of a certain animal. Good Luck!
  3. check online for a pic... but I have to admit that as a farmer I am a little disturbed that you bought an animal that is considered livestock and you truly don't know what it is... Lambs have short tight wool and goats have hair.... for one there is a million differences... just look at a pic.
