- There is no simple answer to your question as they only get paid a commission at the time the sale is concluded. Some people sell or list more homes than others do.
- Forgive me as I'm not sure it's the same in SC as it is in Indiana, but this is a question agents cannot answer. We are barred from quoting a percentage as the "norm" because each transaction is an individual negotiation between seller and agent on the commission to be paid.. The seller determines what the list price should be. After that, the agent/broker decides how much of the negotiated commission to offer to a buyers agent for bringing a buyer. On top of that split, most agents have to split their portion with their broker. So for each sale it's usually split 4 ways: selling agent/selling broker and buyers agent/buyers broker. And that's just one sale. To determine how much an agent makes it depends on how many CLOSED sales they are a part of over the course of a year. An agent is not paid unless and until a sale makes it to the closing stage.
- You can ask a few agents in the area about that. Of course, ask them some other related questions first and on basis of that you can make some conclusion. But, like someone already said it varies on their abilities... Here you can list real estate agents in South Carolina, check it out!
- There are no certain answer to your question. Most real estate agent make their money through commissions.
