Best way to approach real estate agents?

What's the best way to approach real estate agents offering an online service that would help them sell their listed properties? Is it by phone / mail / email? I would assume most real estate agents still arent that comfortable using the internet / email that the best approach would be a letter or tele marketing?

  1. Most agents are actually very well versed on the internet, they have to be at least able to access the MLS. I do not think there is one out there without email going straight to their Blackberry. 99% if them will ignore you with whatever approach you use, email is the cheapest. Unless you have a license to access the IDX you will not be able to use their MLS listing for anything.
  2. As the other poster said, I suggest you just email them. Please don't assume that real estate agents aren't comfortable using the internet or email because most of us are chained to our Blackberry or iPhone. Please spare us whatever sales gimmick you have because there is no magic trick to selling the listing besides an MLS listing, signage on the property, advertising exposure (eblasts, website, virtual tour) and open houses. I guarantee you that unless you've unleashed some new way to get it sold quickly, most realtors aren't interested. I get such offers by phone or email all the time (5-10 a week), and if it's by phone I thank them for their time but don't bother listening. There is no "magic" in our business - it boils down to exposure and you simply can't offer more exposure than what's available nowadays. So as to save your own time, I suggest you just email since (like the other poster said) it will be the cheapest way. If you want, you can call or put flyers through boxes at brokerages.
  3. As it is for most businesses, marketing is one of the keys to success in real estate sales. Use web and video tools, as well as well-created graphics, to develop compelling marketing materials to showcase your properties and the unique approach and services you offer clients. Whether you own a real estate firm or you work in one and need innovative approaches to marketing your listings, the process of creating successful marketing strategies is fairly straightforward.
