Where can I learn to do construction plan takeoffs?

I work for a small new construction siding contractor, and I will be required to read construction plans in order to create bids for potential customers. Specifically, I need to know how to read these plans for exterior siding, soffit, and fascia measurements only. If anyone has any tips or resources on how to gather this information, I'd appreciate it!
