I have antique ivory to sell, but eBay won't allow sales. Where can I go to sell my ivory?
The ivory is hundreds of years old, far predating any laws or restrictions. I bought it from a vendor in Jakarta many years ago. Does anyone know of a reputable online seller I can use? Auction houses want letters of authenticity and ownership, which I obviously don't have.

- hmmm.... an auction house? or.. an upscale consignment shop. there you give it to a store to sell for you and when it sells they get a cut.
- There are several free sites to sell. ecrater.com is one of those. You also have free ad sites like Craigslist. There are several of those too. The reason ebay does not allow it is because it is against the law to sell Ivory taken after a certain date. It is difficult to prove when Ivory was taken. It was made unlawful to take ivory to save the lives of animals it is taken from. Maybe your items are bone and not ivory. You might want to check with someone that is an expert in these matters. Always check to see if the policy of a site allows the sale of Ivory before listing. You could end up being banned from the site. Also check the laws to know what you can and cannot do.
