- Don't see why not.
- They look the same but I would check with the instructor just to be sure that not something special is required. Some schools are funny about that like requiring to purchase their or special equipment only in order for everything to be uniform... like in the military. Everybody wears the same thing.
- As long as the color equals the level of your Judo skill and complies with the color scheme of your organization (USJA or USJF), then there should be no problem. Basically, an obi is an obi is an obi ............. ad infititum
- I have studied both Karate and Judo. In fact I'm still studying martial arts. The belt (obi) is the same for karate and judo. You can buy them from different places. You can buy them from different companies with different logos like addidis or mifune, or century, but the belt are pretty much the same. Some may be a little higher in quality and then a few are made of a different material. Then you have the belt that you can get your name on it in English and or Japanese. Some schools allow this and other don't Some schools only allow this after a certain rank. If I remember correctly my sensei didn't talk to me about getting my name on my belt until after 2nd Dan. But I wasn't required to get it. I believe that to be more of an organizational thing and not a traditional rule. Like in organization only those of us with masters rank can wear a gi top the is white with black trim. My sensei gave me my 1st one. I never wear it. It didn't fit right.
- Ironically, karate adopted the belt system from judo in the first place! The belts are largely all the same. As long as the colour is correct for your rank you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
