Belt Auction

When other countries around the world see the dysfunction of the US economic system...?

What is their incentive to emulate us? When the most wealthy in our country can buy and sell politicians who auction themselves for campaign contributions just so they can remain in power; when judges ignore the plight of the many for the gain of the few and the powerful and the connected; when international conglomerates control the means of production and distribution to the disadvantage of local businesses, how can any "under-developed" country hope to compete with that? When foreigners see the majority of American citizens living from paycheck to paycheck, sturuggling with health care costs which bankrupt families, and the safety net provided by the government continuing to be eroded, why would they want that for their own country? What is the incentive for others to emulate or adopt "American-style" Capitalism? All opinions welcomed.

  1. What you see in America is not capitalism. It is government manipulation and excess. Other countries should not emulate..we should not emulate it.
  2. Actually, a lot of what you describe is the result of a corrupt government and government intervention in the economy, not a functioning economic system.
  3. They pass laws that prevent their countries from filling up with minorities that have to be supported forever.
  4. We need freer markets like Denmark, Honk Kong and Singapore.
  5. America is Evolved Capitalist (Corporatist).
