- As opposed to what? Tossing the money down a storm drain? Yes! Look, it's a used car. Treat it like any other used car. Check the condition, check the mileage, check how much money they want for it, and make an informed decision.
- Law enforcement agencies attempt to keep a relatively new vehicle fleet as would any private citizen. There are positive and negatives when purchasing a used police vehicle. The negatives are that the vehicle has been driven to a point where it most likely has relatively high mileage. There may be small dents and dings but based upon the fact that most of these vehicles are older models...that should be expected. The positive side is that the vehicles have been maintained on a regular maintenance schedule. Oil is normally changed frequently or about every 3000 miles, with any other problem quickly repaired. For the price ...you really can't beat the deal. Many agencies will also use GovDeals.com to sell other items such as boats, vehicles, homes and other property that has been abandoned or seized by the local jurisdictions.
