Best airline credit card for a trip to Europe?

Hello, I'm a student who is looking to travel to the EU over break in 2 summers and I've already got things planned out as far as who's going and what the itinerary is except for the flights. I am, however, searching for a accessible airline credit card to rack up points to get a cheap or free ticket (upgrades work for me too.). I'd prefer a card that is clear cut such as you earn 30g points bam free ticket(s) or 50g points bam free ticket, or even a Amex that allows discounts or companion tickets. I've spent as little as $500 to $3500 a month with the visa. I have excellent credit and currently have a platinum with a fairly esteemed, local credit union; however, Im 19... Any advice as far as what kind of card that would do me the most traveling good is appreciated. Thanks!

  1. The cards you are talking about that you automatically get a ticket after earning so many points are for domestic trips. To get an international airline ticket, it would probably cost at least 50000 points. If you spent $3500 a month for the next 24 months, you would probably only have 60000 points. Your best bet is to follow travel consolidators and purchase your ticket through one of them. You will be able to get a good deal, have better choices of flight times, and it's probably much more feasible.
