Belt Auction

i have a 2001 accord 2.3L. Im deciding on gates or oem timing belt replacement. help?

i can get the gates component kit for $80=complete with t-belt, tensioners. and water pump..i know oem is better, but after some research i have found the honda timing belts are made by gates..honda wants over $275 for the same parts...has anybody have concrete advise what i should do? i have used gates belts before, and was content...honest answers please..i know that you will say OEM only, but in this economic disaster im in, every penny is counted.

1. gates is a good brand and I would use it if I were you. of course OEM is good to but why pay the dealer price when you can get the same quality for cheaper. just make sure after running it about 500 miles to check the tention on the belt for some times after they get hot from driving long perioudes sence there new they strech alittle it will take about 500 miles to break it in so check it dont want you bending a valve.
