When buying antiques and collectibles how do you know when the authenticity label is authentic?

Public Comments

  1. You might want to ask that in another section.
  2. go on line and run a check on it.
  3. There should be another authenticity label that proves the first authenticity label is authentic. But I'm not sure how you can find out if that one is authentic.
  4. check for really old dust particals?? hahaha
  5. Most antiques do not have labels, unless they are on the back of paintings or a tab on a Steiff Bear. Get a book of makers marks for pottery.
  6. It should come with a provenance which is traceable.
  7. Personally I wouldn't have a clue I'd have to rely on someone's word
  8. aren't they stamped.'
