Why concerns do I have about an ebay buyers report?
I had an item up for auction. The item was destroyed. I canceled all bids but couldn't cancel the auction. Someone bought it the last minute. I emailed them immediately that the item was destroyed. They still wanted the item. I no longer have the item. Again I emailed them my apology. They said it was a fed offense and were filing a police report on me, contacting an attorney, and contacted local authorities. I even offered them $10 for the inconvenience. They still said "no". What concerns do I have? They never paid for the item. I am just worried because they have my name, address, and number. Should I be concerned? They don't seem rational to me.

- Do not send those people any money. They are just trying to bully you. They can't do any of what they said they will. Forward their email to ebay for abuse. Tell them you are concerned because they have all your private information. You may get a "cut and paste" saying they can't do anything about it, but I think they actually do take action.
- Keep everything documented, all the other emails you sent to the other bidders to PROVE it was really destroyed. That will help you legally. They probably just want money from you, you offered 10.00, so they think they can get more. Be careful, and politley tell them once again, that since they did not pay for the item, they can contact ebay if they like, but if they continue to contact you, you may be forced to file a harrassment charge on them. And again, keep and document ALL correspondence!!
- They're BSing you. Nobody is going to suffer the legal expenses to sue you. Stop responding to their emails. There's not much you can do about a bad seller report. You didn't deliver the goods.
- I have had a wierdo ebay experience before. He also knew my address, etc. Just contact ebay HELP and go to Live Chat and talk to a person there. Maybe they can cancel the auction for you. You may receive negative feedback, but since the auction went through, its all you can do. DO not keep communicating with these people. They arent out any money, you are...the listing fee. They have no grounds for any legal action. Live Help is your best answer. Good luck!
- You cancelled ALL bids? Did you have a sellers statement reserving the right to cancel bid's? If so,there is no existing contract between the parties. They can demand all they want. Contact ebay and provide them copies of the emails sent to the party and those received. Ebay has on record your cancellation of the bidding process to verify the emails against. In the meantime, simply ignore the the party attemting to coerce and possibly extort funds out of you. Do yourself a favor. In the future, only conduct dialog between parties via the Ebay "My Messages", that way everything is on record at Ebay.
- Their customer service are never helpful! http://paidpal.blogdrive.com/ Read and see if you'd want to continue using PayPal or Ebay! No protection at all! Maybe there is, but for scammers only!
